The full account.
Francesco Filia is the founder and chief executive of Fasanara Capital, a London asset manager specialising in fintech lending and digital investing. The firm was established in London in 2011, and Companies House records Filia as a director of Fasanara Capital Ltd from 3 May 2011; he also holds current directorships at Fasanara Holding Ltd, Fasanara FF Holdings Ltd, Fasanara Technologies Ltd and Clearwell Capital Group Ltd. Fasanara's conference biographies record that, before founding the firm, he was managing director and EMEA head of the Mid Caps and Principal Investors group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, working on multi-strategy, multi-asset portfolio solutions, and earlier a research analyst at JP Morgan Securities, where he published papers on derivatives modelling, fixed income and volatility strategies. The same biographies record that he studied at Bocconi University in Milan and Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.
Filia spoke at Proof of Talk Paris 2026 on the Hecto Main Stage panel "Where Stablecoins Meet Credit: Rewiring Finance Through Tokenisation", held on Day 2, 3 June 2026, from 12:25 to 13:00. He shared the session with Anthony Bassili, Chris Cox and Maha Al-Saadi; Michael del Castillo moderated. The edition ran 2–3 June 2026 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in the Louvre Palace, Paris.
On the same day as that panel, Fasanara announced the Fasanara Ferrari Lending Platform, built with the California dealership group Mattioli Automotive Group to originate and manage loans secured against Ferrari cars. Filia called it "a first-of-its-kind platform" combining institutional private credit with a luxury asset class.
In September 2026 Fasanara and Tether launched StableFund, an evergreen private credit vehicle seeded with a combined US$400 million from the two sponsors and seeking up to US$3 billion more from institutional investors. Fasanara deploys the capital through fintech lenders serving small and medium-sized businesses, while Tether sources USDT-linked financing and provides settlement infrastructure. Filia told Global Trade Review that the fund, incorporated in the Cayman Islands, may take on trade finance assets, and that stablecoin infrastructure can speed up treasury operations and settlement while the underlying loans and receivables stay denominated and repaid in conventional currencies.
What Francesco believes about the next ten years.
Years of shipping.
Lines that keep proving correct.
“The opportunity is to combine established trade finance products and Fasanara's underwriting expertise with more efficient infrastructure for moving capital.”
“Neither the loan itself nor the fund interest needs to be tokenised.”
“We have spent years building the proprietary technology, the origination relationships, and the underwriting discipline to direct institutional capital to borrowers that traditional finance systematically underserves.”
What they have built, written, and backed.
