Jean Herelle appeared at Proof of Talk Paris 2026 as founder and chief executive of Crunch Lab. A Crunch Lab announcement distributed on 7 October 2025 identified him as CEO of both Crunch Lab and CrunchDAO and described the company as a core contributor to CrunchDAO. That release set out a model in which enterprise forecasting problems become modelling challenges and contributors compete to submit machine-learning solutions. The company reported a $5 million strategic financing round, with Galaxy Ventures and Road Capital as co-leads and participation from VanEck and Multicoin.
The connection to Bittensor was documented in a separate announcement dated 19 January 2026. That release identified Herelle as CrunchDAO’s founder and described opening decentralised AI mining to academic and enterprise machine-learning scientists. It framed Bittensor subnets as another set of customers for the community’s modelling work. CrunchDAO’s October 2025 community update separately recorded the financing and described a decentralised protocol connecting machine-learning engineers with enterprise modelling challenges. Cointelegraph’s independent report of 7 October 2025 also identified Herelle as co-founder and CEO and described the enterprise modelling approach. His June keynote focused on mining pools, within the conference’s Bittensor track. Crunch’s platform handles secure model submissions, privacy-preserving data transformation and automated rewards. Its company description presents these functions as infrastructure for contributors to work on enterprise problems while protecting their models and the customer’s data.
At Proof of Talk Paris 2026, Jean Herelle took part in the keynote session "Mining Pools on Bittensor" on 3 June. The session ran from 16:00 to 16:10 on the Taostats Stage at the Louvre Palace.
