Micaela Bazo

Micaela Bazo is chief executive of Metanova Labs, an AI drug discovery company whose platform, NOVA, runs as Bittensor Subnet 68. The speaker biography published for Exploit Summit 2026 describes Bazo as the company's co-founder, with a background in systems design and science-led innovation, and says Bazo previously worked as a Strategy Partner at Google, translating climate and ecology science into real-world applications.

Metanova Labs says it is developing what it calls Agency Therapeutics, medicines intended to restore or expand the biological capacity for self-regulation; its research spans reward, learning and plasticity. NOVA was announced as live on Subnet 68 in March 2025, according to the Subnet Alpha directory. The company's site describes it as a decentralised engine for therapeutic discovery that runs continuously. Miners submit molecules, nanobodies or chemical search algorithms, validators score the submissions with prediction models, and Metanova shortlists the strongest entries for wet-lab validation with contract research organisations and partners.

In November 2025, DiaGen AI and Metanova Labs announced a letter of intent for a joint venture to develop a hit-picking tool for automating drug discovery, which the two would co-own. Bazo, quoted as CEO of Metanova Labs, said the collaboration would let the company and its partners automate and scale the way they identify and prioritise candidates for validation. The company's partnerships page also lists OnePot.AI, credited with an AI-driven robotic synthesis lab, and Yalotein, for whose nanobody programmes Metanova built a dedicated screening competition.

In May 2026, Crypto Briefing reported that Bazo had positioned NOVA as a deliberate move away from the Big Pharma playbook, letting anyone with computational resources and scientific talent contribute to drug discovery.

Bazo spoke at Proof of Talk Paris 2026, held on 2–3 June 2026 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Louvre Palace, appearing twice on the Taostats Stage on 2 June. From 15:30 to 16:45, Bazo took part in the keynote session "Bittensor Track - Subnet Keynotes", alongside Robert Myers, Julien du Bois, Tim Kalic, Ken Miyachi and Shardul Bansal. From 16:50 to 17:30, Bazo was a speaker on the panel "From Subnet to Market: Turning Bittensor Infrastructure into Real Businesses", moderated by Mark Jeffrey, with Marcus (Mog) Graichen, Robert Myers and Gavin Zaentz.

In September 2026, Bazo was named among the confirmed speakers for Exploit Summit 2026, a Bittensor conference held in Montreal on 28–29 September.
