The Biography

The full account.

Michael Arrington was listed in the Proof of Talk Paris 2026 speaker roster as General Partner at Arrington Capital. His professional background included technology publishing, venture investing and digital-asset fund management.

Before establishing his investment firm, Arrington founded TechCrunch, the technology news publication launched in 2005. He also served as its editor. TechCrunch’s own twentieth-anniversary article in June 2025 identified him as the person who created the publication; Armada Acquisition Corp. II’s annual report separately recorded the founding role and launch year.

His move into venture capital included establishing CrunchFund. Institutional Investor reported the fund’s launch in September 2011 and identified Patrick Gallagher as his partner. The firm focused on investing in startup companies. Arrington’s subsequent Armada biography also recorded CrunchFund as an earlier venture firm, preceding his focus on cryptocurrency and Web3 investments.

At Arrington Capital Management, LLC, his role was described as founder and Managing Member from December 2017 in Armada’s annual report and the investment firm’s published biography. A separate Form D amendment dated 9 September 2026 confirmed the legal entity and title in his signature: Managing Member of Arrington Capital Management, LLC. The filing identified that company as the general partner of Arrington XRP Capital Fund, LP.

The firm also published research on digital-asset markets. Its March 2020 report, “Bitcoin Risk and The Once-In-Cycle Trade”, credited Arrington among the contributors, with Ninor Mansor named as author. The report examined Bitcoin risk through historical market cycles and risk-adjusted returns. These were the publication’s historical analytical arguments.

Arrington’s work also included a public-company board role. Armada’s February 2026 quarterly report recorded his appointment as chairman and director in August 2025, corroborating the role shown on the firm’s Armada page.
