The Biography

The full account.

Nicola Massella moderated a panel at Proof of Talk Paris 2026 as a partner at STORM Partners. The firm’s executive-team page describes his remit as Legal and Resilience, Partner.

A professional document signed by Massella and dated 11 May 2026 and published in the SEC’s public comment archive records his work on digital-asset market structure. The STORM Partners submission discusses distinctions between a digital asset and the transaction in which it is sold, the treatment of protocol-native fee burns and participation rewards, and the effect of subsequent changes to token economics. It argues for assessing technical design, governance, economic rights and issuer communications when drawing legal distinctions. STORM Partners’ public description places legal advice alongside strategy and operational services for blockchain organisations, and identifies Geneva’s Decentral House as its headquarters. Massella’s June moderation joined this legal context with a panel expressly about the relationship between privacy and compliance. In his SEC submission, Massella also addressed how a change in a token’s economic mechanisms could affect the legal analysis over time, connecting product design with disclosure and market structure.

At Proof of Talk Paris 2026, Nicola Massella moderated the panel "Privacy and Compliance: Two Sides of the Same Coin" on 2 June. The session ran from 12:30 to 13:05 on the Taostats Stage at the Louvre Palace. The programme also listed James Smith, Jody Mettler, Jens Hachmeister and Dr. Saj Khoshroo. In that edition’s roster, James Smith was billed with Elliptic; Jody Mettler was billed with BitGo; Jens Hachmeister was billed with Clearstream, Deutsche Börse Group; Dr. Saj Khoshroo was billed with Midnight.
