The Biography

The full account.

Steven Waterhouse was listed in the Proof of Talk Paris 2026 speaker roster as Founder and General Partner of Nazaré Ventures. The archived edition took place on 2 and 3 June at the Louvre Palace. His work combines investment in AI infrastructure with published analysis of the systems that support models, agents and their use inside organisations.

Nazaré describes its focus as early investment in the AI-native technology stack. The firm’s stated areas include compute infrastructure, tools for autonomous agents and open AI ecosystems. These categories cover the capacity needed to run models, components such as memory and verification, and applications built around that infrastructure. Its public portfolio includes businesses working on GPU compute, model evaluation, privacy-related computing and robotics tools.

Waterhouse writes Robot Wave, a publication linked from Nazaré’s website. In a July 2026 essay, he argued that evaluating AI systems requires attention to the work they perform inside specific environments. The article distinguished public benchmarks from tests built around an organisation’s own workflows. It described verification of both the process and the output as an operating requirement when software takes actions on behalf of people or businesses.

In an April 2026 interview with InformationWeek, Waterhouse was identified as Nazaré’s founder and general partner. He discussed the relationship between investment and customer demand in the AI sector. His comments pointed to work moving from proofs of concept toward production and longer-term arrangements for compute, applications and agent workflows. Those observations were his assessment of the market at the time.

The Paris roster therefore links Waterhouse’s investment role with a professional focus on AI systems and infrastructure. His documented work addresses the companies supplying that infrastructure and the methods organisations use to judge whether AI performs useful work under their operating requirements.
